The disappearance of Maycon Douglas has drawn widespread attention, with new details revealed by both the press and social media. Reports indicate that the young man was last seen in the early hours of December 31, 2025, following an argument with his girlfriend.
On the TVI program ‘Dois Γ s 10’ this Friday, January 30, Marcelo Palma, a close friend of Maycon, shared his recollections of that tense period. βThe people from NazarΓ©, my best friend included, had a sense of how the night went and already suspected that something might have happened on the 31st. I started getting worried, as did everyone else. I didnβt even celebrate midnight, and first thing on the morning of January 1st, I began calling them. By lunchtime, I went to NazarΓ© to try to understand the situation,β Marcelo explained.
When asked by Cristina Ferreira and ClΓ‘udio Ramos about the events of that night, Marcelo chose to remain cautious: βHonestly, I didnβt want to go into details because I wasnβt there. Itβs public knowledge that the night of December 30th wasnβt normal; there may have been one or two disagreements with close people. I donβt know if that explains anything, and honestly, nobody will ever truly know why.β
Marcelo also reflected on Mayconβs behavior in the months leading up to his disappearance. βHe never showed signs that something was wrong, but there was one thing that stood out. From around September, when he started seeing his girlfriend, Maycon would call me almost every day, even though he spent a lot of time in Lisbon. Maybe it was a cry for attention, or maybe he just wanted companyβI donβt know,β Marcelo shared.
On the topic of Maycon Douglasβs tragic death, Marcelo Palma opened up emotionally: βI still canβt believe it. What I want to hold onto are the memories. Iβm not afraid to see videos or photographs of him because they help keep him alive in my mind. He may no longer be with us, but I want to feel his presence. Thatβs all. I want him to remain present in my life.β
