Sony kicked off the 20th anniversary of God of War with two major announcements during Thursdayβs State of Play: a remake of the classic Greek saga trilogy and the immediate release of a new 2D game set in Kratosβ youth on the PS5.
Classic Trilogy Remake in Development
More than two decades after the original God of War launched on PlayStation 2 in March 2005, Santa Monica Studio confirmed that the classic trilogy is being remade. The project was announced with the participation of TC Carson, the original voice of Kratos during the Greek era of the series.

The game tells a canonical story set during Kratosβ youth, following his training in the Agoge alongside his brother Deimos. The narrative is penned by the same team behind God of War (2018) and RagnarΓΆk, with TC Carson reprising his role as Kratosβ narrator, providing continuity for long-time fans.
